Candice and Zach had a gorgeous leap day wedding ceremony on the beach in Destin last month. It was a little chilly on the beach, which ended up being great because it meant there was no one around. Pre-coronavirus, it was really rare to see empty beaches around here, even in the winter, so it ended up making Candice and Zach’s ceremony much more private and intimate than most beach ceremonies. Crystal Beach Weddings did such an amazing job with their setup (I love a good beach chandelier) and it’s always a pleasure working with their officiant, Roy Mills. Congratulations Candice & Zach!
For real though, I wish every time I walked into a room, I was greeted the way Niki and Jarred’s guests celebrated them during their ceremony. I would always be in a *fabulous* mood! Legit, this was the friendliest, most excited group of guests I’ve filmed thus far. Niki and Jarred’s ceremony was anything but solemn (and I totally feel that – I laughed thru my entire wedding ceremony, and it was as awkward and amazing as you can imagine). It was such a pleasure filming this great group of people and I’m so happy with their highlights film. I hope it really conveys what a fun, happy, young, and bright couple they are.
There are so many details from Courtney and Jordyn’s wedding day that I’m excited to share. For me, it’s those little, unstaged moments that make wedding days (well, really, all of our days) special. Things like:
-Courtney not being able to read the gift from her bridesmaids without bawling
-Jordyn’s best man dusting off her shoulders after she put her jacket on
-Every single hug & kiss Courtney & Jordyn received from their parents
-Jordyn’s reaction to seeing Courtney walk down the aisle
-Courtney’s concern for beer placement during their bridal party photos
-The random guest dancing in the background at the 11:40 mark
-Courtney making sure her grandma got to boogie with everyone at the reception
-The worm
-Smirnoff Ice
But my absolute favorite part of the day is right around the 4 minute mark of their highlights film where Courtney did a first look with her dad and with Jordyn. It was one of the sweetest first looks I’ve ever filmed and it still gives me the warm and fuzzies every time I watch it. I’m so grateful that I got to be there to capture their wedding day, full of sweet, fun, happy, and emotional moments.
I am so pumped about working on Courtney and Jordyn’s wedding films! It was legit hard squeezing so much awesomeness from their wedding day into 1 little preview film, but there is so much more to come. Here’s a sneak peek of their beautiful wedding day at Holland Farms.
Sometimes you plan a beautiful Destin beach ceremony, and then Mother Nature and the state of Florida have other plans. Morgan and Cody were supposed to get married at Henderson Beach State Park but a tropical storm closed all of the state parks so they moved their ceremony to The Henderson. When it comes to the weather, there is just nothing you can do about it and you have to go with the flow, and that’s exactly what Morgan and Cody and their friends and family did. They were all smiles and cheers and you never would’ve known this was Plan B. Their ceremony was beautiful (and dry!) and I’m glad I was there to capture it for them.
P.S. This is actually the 2nd time I’ve filmed a wedding that was derailed by weather and moved to The Henderson. First of all, this venue is beautiful. But beyond that, they are extremely accommodating and helpful for last minute bookings due to the weather. I highly recommend them if you are looking for an indoor space to host a wedding or event in the Destin area.
May every bride and groom have a wedding party and guests as excited as Morgan and Cody’s! You can tell this group came out to celebrate these two. Here’s a sneak peek of Morgan and Cody’s wedding ceremony at The Henderson.
I love elopements. They are so intimate and personal, and the couples always seem so happy and stress free. Samantha and Wes were definitely one of those couples. They had such a beautiful ceremony, full of smiles and laughs, and I loved being there, capturing every minute of it.
