I started filming weddings up in Clarksville, Tennessee way back in 2007. Weddings up there are an all day event. I would get there early in the morning and leave late at night. By the end of the day, I felt like I knew all of the bride and groom’s friends and families and I was really a part of their wedding day. In 2014, when I moved to Florida, I quickly learned that the market was much different down here. It’s a lot of smaller ceremonies, elopements, & vow renewals. I’ve adapted and I now mostly film intimate beach ceremonies. I love it. It’s usually only family and very close friends in attendance, so the atmosphere is so friendly and warm.

That said…I do love when I have a chance to film the bride and groom getting ready for their big day. I don’t get to film that as much anymore, but for their wedding day film, I think footage of everyone getting ready really sets the stage for the ceremony. Daisy and Federico knew that they wanted shots of themselves getting ready for their big day. Daisy and her bridesmaids got ready at a house in Miramar Beach and Federico and his groomsmen got ready at the Embassy Suites just down the road from their ceremony location. Federico was originally supposed to get ready at a hotel further away in Destin but because it was important to them to have this “getting ready” footage, he found a spot closer to the ceremony. It’s always nice when a bride and groom know exactly what they want and prioritize those needs on their wedding day.

Daisy and Federico’s ceremony took place just down the beach from Pompano Joe’s. Crystal Beach Weddings did an amazing job with their ceremony and reception setup. It’s THE BEST when a reception location is literally steps from the ceremony. Your guests can just walk right over and start enjoying themselves at the reception while you wrap up portrait photos with your photographer. Daisy and Federico had a beautiful wedding day from start to finish and I was happy to be there and be a part of their special day.
